Our October meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 13th at 7pm. The meeting will be held at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church, 10785 Melody Drive in Northglenn. The program will be a a 2026 ballot issue explainer. Ann Sutton and Sheryl Kallivrousis, members of the League of Women Voters Legislative Action Committee, will describe all 14 statewide issues included on this year's ballot.

The issues include Proposition NN, which would increase money for education without raising taxes and Amendment 87, a graduated income tax that would increase taxes on people earning more than $500,000. A competing measure, Prop 136, would cap the current flat tax rate of 4.4%.

Other issues address penalties for fentanyl use and sex trafficking of minors that opponents say would have devastating effects on victims and bystanders. It is important that voters learn the pros and cons and not judge a measure by its title.
